Are you a school?

We are not a legal school that reports to the state of Ohio. We operate as a non-profit organization according to the state of Ohio. Children that will attend Cypress are registered by their parents as homeschooled children by the state of Ohio. We function as a learning center to support homeschool families in Wayne County and the surrounding areas by offering supplemental classical education.

Are you a Homeschool Co-op?

No, we are not a co-op. A co-op is a regular scheduled meeting among homeschool families with the intention of providing social and learning activities. The instruction is provided by volunteers as a “cooperative” effort among the families belonging to the co-op.

What is the Cypress Hybrid program?

The hybrid program begins in September 2026 and will run for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a step up from the co-op as we will meet two days a week on Tuesday and Thursday for a full instruction day. The hybrid program will provide instruction by paid teachers of the organization who have been trained in our Charlotte Mason Classical philosophy.

When does Cypress meet?

The Hybrid Program will begin September 1, 2026 and will meet weekly on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am - 2:45pm for the 2026/2027 school year (Sep.-May).

We are located in Wooster, OH.

Why do you not offer a Pre-K class?

Charlotte Mason fully believed that early childhood is meant to be protected and full of natural curiosity and play. Our Saplings program is a blended Kindergarten and Jr Kindergarten program. We offer this program as early as Age 4 (by Aug 1 of the school year). Placement within the Saplings program is determined through a short assessment to ensure each child is in the class that best fits their stage of growth and learning.
